2. About Face

2.1 Facials

2.1.1 What is a facial ?

A facial is a deep cleansing treatment applied to the face for healthy skin hygiene. Facials are designed to eliminate clogged pores, blackheads, and other impurities affecting the appearance of the skin.

Facials can incorporate several different steps that can include the use of creams, masques, peels, steam, exfoliation, lotions, and massage. These treatments were once thought to be only for women, but today many men are getting facials on a regular basis as well.

2.1.2 What exactly does a facial involve ?

A facial usually involves a few basic steps, but each one is customized for your skin’s specific needs. Initially, your skin is cleansed and then the esthetician does a skin analysis while looking through a brightly lit magnifying lamp. You then undergo exfoliation, usually while a steam vapor is directly at your face.

Extraction of blackheads then follows, if appropriate for your skin condition. To relax you and stimulate your skin and facial muscles, the esthetician will perform a facial massage and then apply a masque designed for your specific skin type (e.g. dry, oily, sensitive, etc.). Finally, there is the application of specific protective creams and sunscreens.

2.1.3 Who gives a facial ?

The facial is given by our licensed esthetician, who has special training in skin care.

2.1.3 How often should I get a facial ?

Initially, it’s best to have a facial about every four to six weeks. After several facials, you can decrease your frequency to about four times per year, usually as the seasons change. You may need one more frequently if you are trying to clear up acne, especially when just starting off.

2.1.4 How long does a facial last ?

A facial usually lasts about one hour.

2.1.5 What types of facial variations are there ?

There are many variations on the classic European facial, including the “mini-facial” (cleansing without extractions) and specialty facials. Our esthetician will discuss your concerns and tailor the facial to your specific needs. Each of our facials is customized for your skin.

2.2 O2 Oxygen Facial

2.2.1 What is an O2 Oxygen Facial ?

An O2 Oxygen Facial is a treatment which PURE Oxygen is infused, along with other special serums of modified hyaluronic acid, essential vitamins, botanicals, antioxidants and amino peptides to the skin. Re-hydrated, plumped up skin in less than an hour sets this treatment apart from any other facial treatments.

2.2.2 What does Infuse mean ?

An Infusion refers to the process of applying a hydrophilic (water loving) Serum containing hyaluronic acid technology to the skin. Additionally, it draws or carries other active and beneficial skin specific ingredients such as vitamins, antioxidants, botanicals and amino peptides to the skin.

2.2.3 How is Oxygen used to treat wounds and burns ?

Oxygen, when applied directly to open skin is an innovative approach to healing difficult wounds and burns. Direct oxygen to the vital fluids at the surface and is used to reduce bacteria and to speed healing.

2.2.4 Which skin conditions benefit from Oxygen Facials ?

Oxygen Facials help increase the skin’s moisture levels and targets dry, dehydrated and prematurely aging skin, sensitive skin, sensitized skin, sun damage, brown spots, skin laxity, fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin texture, post inflammatory pigmentation and problem prone skin conditions.

2.2.5 Is it proven safe ?

Oxygen Facials can be used on all skin types, including sensitive, acne, and rosacea prone skin conditions. May also be recommended as a cooling calming treatment for post sun and wind exposed skin conditions.

2.2.6 Does oxygen cause free radicals ?

While oxygen is critical to all oxygen breathing organisms, oxygen also produces free radicals as a by-product of normal oxygen metabolism. Fortunately, the body produces protective free radical fighting enzymes; glutathione, catalase and sodium oxide dismustase to neutralize the majority of this activity and additional dietary and supplemental antioxidants are also recommended. There is no evidence that oxygen treatments cause free radical damage; in fact most scientists and physicians argue that even if topical oxygen could penetrate the skin it would be such an insignificant amount; basically no more than your daily exposure to oxygen.

2.2.7 What about Oxygen skin care creams and mask ?

There are currently two ways to incorporate oxygen into skin care products. Yeast cell derivatives or glycoproteins claim to help transport oxygen to the skin. Hydrogen Peroxide and Benzyl Peroxide both donate oxygen when applied to the skin but have been shown to create free radical activity and are not recommend for sensitive and/or sun exposed skin.

2.2.8 What are the main benefits of an O2 Oxygen Facial ?

– Instant visible results

– Deeply hydrates – provides volume and definition

– Firms, lifts and improves overall texture and tone

– Kills Bacteria below the surface

– Helps stimulates collagen and elastin activity

– Dramatically reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

– Comforts dry, sensitive or stressed skin

– Provides an immediate increase in skin radiance and glow

2.3 Vampire Facial

2.3.1 What is a Vampire Facial ?

You can embrace the aging process gracefully and still have a healthy and youthful-looking appearance. To do this, you don’t have to look further than your own body for a natural fountain of youth. You have inside of you the power to heal and regenerate tissue in all areas of your body. Stem cells do this for you every day of your life. Cosmetic Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Facial Rejuvenation is a leading-edge procedure that harnesses the healing power of platelets and growth factors from your blood to stimulate a stem cell response. These stem cells help you to grow new collagen and blood vessels, repair and regenerate damaged skin, and help slow and reverse the signs of aging.

2.3.2 What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) ?

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is an extract of your own blood that contains three to five times more platelets, growth factors, and active proteins for tissue and injury healing. It has been used medically for years to accelerate wound healing; repair tendon, ligament and joint damage; heal diabetic ulcers; and help regrow muscle and bone. When PRP is placed back into the skin by injection or micro-needling, it initiates a localized stem cell response. Over the weeks and months following treatment, this stem cell response recruits collagen-producing cells called fibroblasts. The fibroblasts replace tissue that has been damaged or lost through the aging process with healthy skin that looks refreshed and rejuvenated.

2.3.3 What are the advantages of Cosmetic PRP ?

The potential benefits of PRP have led to a recent widespread interest in its use for anti-aging and regenerative purposes. The healing properties of the blood components in PRP can be used as a cosmetic treatment for the following:

  • Reducing fine lines and wrinkles
  • Tightening and toning skin
  • Mild collagen and volume loss
  • Crow’s feet and dark under eye circles
  • Acne scarring
  • Rosacea

Within a few weeks of treatment, an overall improvement in skin hydration, texture and tone can be seen. New collagen and blood vessels begin to grow after three to six weeks, and reduction of fine lines and wrinkles and volume correction happens over the next three to six months. The effects of Cosmetic PRP can last 12 months to two years, depending on the individual. While it creates a longer-lasting effect in the skin, it does take time to work. For women looking for an immediate effect, Cosmetic PRP can be combined with hyaluronic acid fillers for quick volume correction. Fillers provide a matrix for building new collagen and can be used to accelerate and sustain the benefits of Cosmetic PRP.

2.3.4 Is Cosmetic PRP right for you ?

Cosmetic wants and needs are unique to every woman and should be addressed individually. Often, women are looking for a refreshed, rejuvenated and youthful appearance without looking frozen or over-plumped, without aggressive surgery, chemicals or toxins. This can be done with the right combination of proper diet and lifestyle, skincare products and carefully chosen cosmetic procedures. Some age-related concerns respond better to Cosmetic PRP, while others respond better to hyaluronic acid fillers, peels or laser resurfacing techniques. The effects of all these treatments are enhanced by using them together, in the right way, under the guidance of the right skincare team. Women and men of all ages can benefit from Cosmetic PRP.

2.3.5 What is the Cosmetic PRP Procedure ?

Prior to the Cosmetic PRP procedure, a consultation is done to assess cosmetic needs and determine the best combination of treatments to achieve the desired result. A simple blood collection is done and processed immediately in a special centrifuge. This concentrates and separates the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood. After numbing the area being treated, the PRP is injected or reapplied to the skin using a micro-needling device. Proper after-care and follow-up is done as a part of all treatments.

Cosmetic PRP is a simple and safe procedure. The most common side effects are mild swelling and bruising that may last three to seven days. Because the PRP is extracted from your own blood, there is no risk of disease transmission, allergic or immune reaction. As with all cosmetic procedures, however, there are certain health conditions, such as autoimmune and blood disorders, that may limit its use. There is exciting potential for the use of PRP in regenerative, anti-aging and cosmetic medicine. It is a safe, effective and natural way of harnessing the healing power of your own blood to help reverse the signs of aging. As part of an integrated approach to skincare that addresses both internal and external factors, Cosmetic PRP can be your natural fountain of youth.

3.1.5 Where does the fat go? Are the results permanent ?

Once the treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), your body processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells. Once the treated fat cells are gone, they’re gone for good.

3.1.6 What does it feel like ?

As the cooling begins during the first few minutes, you will feel pressure and intense cold. This soon dissipates. Many people read, watch videos, work on their laptop, or even take a nap during their treatment.

3.1.10 When will I see results ?

You may start to see changes as quickly as three weeks after your treatment, and will experience the most dramatic results after two months. But your body will still flush out fat cells and continues doing so for up to four to six months after treatment.

3.1.11 Do I need to take special supplements, or follow a strict diet and exercise program ?

No supplements or pills are required and you do not have to adopt new diet and exercise habits. Many patients feel more motivated to take care of themselves after their Cool Slimming treatment. It is as if they get a second lease on their body and want to start anew again by taking even better care of themselves.

3.1.12 What happens if I gain weight down the road ?

Many people, after seeing the results from their Cool Slimming procedure, take even better care of themselves. However, if you do gain weight, you may gain it evenly all over your body, not just in the treated areas.

3.2 Ultrasonic Cavitation

3.2.1 By what other names is Ultrasonic Cavitation referred to? What is Ultrasonic Cavitation ?

Ultrasound Cavitation; Cavitation; Ultra Cavitation; Body Contouring; Body Sculpting.  Ultrasound Cavitation is a process where the power of ultrasound naturally breaks down the fat and the fat cell in a localized area of treatment and then allows the body to naturally move the fat, fat cells, and toxins from the area out through the body’s natural detoxification process. When combined with Tripolar radio frequency (RF) the newest RF on the market today you also tighten, tone the skin reducing sagging, wrinkles and the appearance of cellulite. The combination can’t be beat and the new RF is painless and can be used without the need for grounding.

3.2.2 How does Ultrasonic Cavitation work ?

Ultrasonic refers to sound frequency. An Ultrasonic Cavitation hand-piece will make a sound we cannot hear while it is vibrating. We measure the vibration times per second as sound frequency, and refer to this as Hertz. Humans can hear from 20 hertz to 20,000 hertz. We are unable to hear anything above or below these levels. Therefore soundwaves with frequency above 20,000 hertz we call Ultrasonic. A Megahertz is 1,000,000 hertz; we refer to as MHz. Usually an ultrasonic frequency of 1MHz to 5MHz is used for various medical treatments. It is highly penetrative and directional.

The vibration of ion (positive and negative alternation of sound waves) produces a strong wave of pressure to fat cell membranes. Usually a fat cell membrane cannot withstand this pressure, it will explode into the liquid content. This liquid product leaves the body through the normal channels of the body’s metabolism.

Ultrasonic Cavitation customers have seen results which we believe are due to the quantity of fat cells being destroyed and therefore reduced, and the body’s fat cell metabolism is improved. Destroying these fat cells can remove the body’s environment for fat storage.

3.2.3 Is Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation a safe procedure ?

Yes, it is safe, comfortable, and non-invasive procedure with virtually no side effects. It does not require anesthesia, leaves no scars and does not require any post treatment. The ultrasound energy is designed to target fatty tissues beneath the skin only, and does not affect the blood vessels, nerves and connective tissues.

3.2.4 Is the procedure painful ?

No, the treatment is painless. A slight tingling sensation or very slight buzzing in the ear may sometimes be felt during the treatment but this is not uncomfortable. Some heat sensation may also be felt during treatment but no pain. Any slight reddening of the skin, which may sometimes develop during or soon after treatment quickly, disappears.

3.2.5 On which parts of the body is the treatment most beneficial ?

Thighs (saddle bags), Abdomen (love handles), Hips (flanks), Buttock, Upper arm i.e. the areas of localized fat. However it cannot be applied to the head, neck, chest, back and over bony areas.

3.2.6 How long is a treatment session ?

Treatment times may vary depending on the area being treated but a typical session will last between 45 minutes to an hour. This includes the preparation, treatment and post-treatment procedures.

3.2.7 Does it work on Cellulite ?

Yes, low frequency ultrasound (40kHz) generally works well on cellulite by focusing the ‘cavitation effect’ on the superficial fat tissue. Best results are obtained when the ultrasound is applied in conjunction with the ‘radio frequency’ (RF) treatment, which helps to tighten and tone the skin. Cellulite is the appearance of dimpled skin.

3.2.8 Where are fat cells stored ?

Fat is stored primarily as triglycerides inside adipocytes cells located between the muscles and skin. The numbers of fat cells are the same regardless of a person’s weight but the size of the cells can vary greatly.

3.2.9 What instant result can I expect ?

The ultrasonic cavitation treatment will often yield immediate results, which you can feel, touch and see and it can be long lasting. Some clients can experience between 1 to 5 cm. of circumference reduction after a single session with increasing results after subsequent visits. However, more significant results will be noticed after the second and third treatment.

3.2.10 What long-term results can I expect with ultrasonic cavitation ?

You can achieve ‘volume reduction’ of fatty tissues and ‘toning of the body’. The results are gradual over a number of weeks as your body clears the broken down fatty tissues. It is not uncommon to achieve up to 10 cm reduction by the end of the course of treatments. The results can be long lasting provided you follow a healthy diet and exercise program. However it is very easy to deposit fat again into the tissues if one over-eats, consumes too much alcohol or doesn’t exercise. Ultimately the result may vary depending on the individual’s different tissue structure, treatment area, age, metabolism, medication, and changes in hormones.

3.2.11 Can I lose weight with Ultrasonic Cavitation ?

Fat Cavitation is not a treatment for obesity nor is it a weight loss procedure. Rather is a method for ‘reshaping’ and ‘toning’ the body. It is particularly intended to reduce localized fat tissues which are resistant to exercise around the abdomen (love handles), buttocks, and thighs (saddle bags), that won’t easily go away by simple dieting and exercise.

3.2.12 Are there any side effects with this treatment ?

There are virtually no side effects. However on rare occasions there may be a slight possibility of mild side effects such as transient redness, excessive thirst, or nausea immediately after the treatment, which is invariably resolved by drinking water. These are all short-term effects that disappear in a few hours.

3.2.13 What Guidelines should I follow pre-treatment and, post treatment ?

Drink plenty of water. Drinking water is a necessary part of the treatment to facilitate the elimination of the broken down fat. Maintain a low calorie diet for a few days after the treatment to ensure that the energy released by the treatment is properly utilized and metabolized by the body. After the treatment patients are able to return to their daily activities as usual.

3.2.14 How many sessions are required to achieve the desired result ?

Between 8 -12 treatments are required. However you should begin to see significant ‘results’ from the third session onwards. The body takes about 72 hours to eliminate the fat from each session therefore we recommend an interval of 1 week between treatment sessions.

3.2.15 What are the ‘contraindications’ with Ultrasonic Cavitation ?

Ultrasonic cavitation treatment is not for everybody. Even though it is a safe and painless procedure, nevertheless there are contraindications for using cavitation devices for treatment of localized fat. Such contraindications will depend on the individual’s medical history. Thus people with kidney failure, liver failure, heart disease, carrying a pacemaker, pregnancy, lactation, etc. are not suitable candidates for the cavitation treatment.

3.2.16 Are the results of ultrasonic cavitation similar to liposuction ?

The ultrasonic cavitation can be considered as a treatment alternative to surgical liposuction. Both treatments are designed to reduce fatty tissues. However, Liposuction is ‘invasive’ while Ultrasonic Cavitation is non-invasive.

3.2.17 On what areas of the body can Ultrasonic Cavitation be used ?
  • Abdomen Flanks (Love Handles)
  • Thighs (Saddle Bags, Inner & Outer)
  • Buttocks
  • Face (Chin & Cheeks)
  • Upper Arms
  • Waist (Love Handles)
  • Back (Bra Line)
  • Hips (Saddle Bags)
  • Knees Ankles

4. About Eyes

4.1 iNatural Eyelash Extensions

4.1.1 What Are iNatural Lash Extensions ?

Xtreme Lash Extensions is a revolutionary new product that lengthens and thickens eyelashes. iNatural Lash Extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. They are applied to individual eyelashes, one lash at a time, for a natural, elegant and luscious look. They are perfect for special occasions as well as for every day wear.

4.1.2 How long do iNatural Lash Extensions Last ?

When applied properly, semi-permanent iNatural Lash Extensions can last up to 2 months, depending on the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes and the expertise of the technician applying the eyelash extensions. You will probably want touch-ups every two to four weeks. The Bonding Agent is specially formulated with a unique waterproof bonding agent to last. Imitation glues may not last as long because of inferior bonding strength.

4.1.3 Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing iNatural Lash Extensions ?

Yes. Our specially formulated bonding agent allows you to shower, swim, exercise, sleep and spa worry-free while wearing iNatural Lashes. You can enjoy these lashes with little need to adjust your lifestyle. Please do not swim or spa for 48 hours after the procedure to allow the bonding agent to fully cure. After this, you can swim and spa – worry free.

4.1.4 Can I apply iNatural Lash Extensions to my own eyelashes ?

No. Only a trained professional will be able to safely apply iNatural Lash  Extensions. Unprofessional application or self-application may cause eye injury or clumpy, unnatural looking lashes. iNatural Lashes are applied one lash at a time to your individual natural eyelashes to achieve long, thick and natural looking eyelashes. The procedure involves bonding the synthetic extension to your own natural eyelashes.

4.1.5 How often should I get touch-ups ?

We recommend getting a touch up every two to four weeks. A natural eyelash falls off every 60 to 90 days on average due to the natural growth cycle and is naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. At any given moment, each of your natural eyelashes is at a different stage of its life cycle. A touch up is needed to replenish the lashes that have completed their life cycle. Touch ups generally take a short time and are relatively inexpensive.

4.1.6 Can I apply mascara to iNatural Lash Extensions ?

Indeed, one of the main advantages of lash extensions is never needing mascara again. However, if you must have the mascara look ONLY WATER BASED MASCARA CAN BE USED. You can purchase our specially formulated mascara. DO NOT USE OIL-BASED OR WATERPROOF MASCARA. Waterproof mascara along with any type of oil-based mascara will dissolve the bonding agent and cause the iNatural Lash  Extensions to fall off.

4.1.7 How do I take care of iNatural Lash Extensions ?

Your new iNatural Lash  Extensions are long, thick and beautiful! Once applied, they last up to 2 months. Best of all, they are easy to maintain. Your iNatural Lash  Professional will give you a detailed easy care maintenance instruction manual following your procedure. To maintain this look and extend the life of your lashes, follow these easy care instructions:

  1. Do not wash eyes or shower for 24 hours after lash application. Do not swim or spa for 48 hours after lash application to allow adequate time for bonding.
  2. Be gentle with your lashes.
  3. Avoid rubbing your eyes.
  4. Avoid oil-based and waterproof mascara. Water based mascara and water based mascara remover may be used. Use mascara sparingly and gently remove mascara with water-based eye makeup remover. Apply mascara on the tips only.
  5. We recommend getting a touch up every two to four weeks.
4.1.8 Can you describe the application process ?

You will be comfortably reclined with your eyes closed while iNatural Lash  Extensions are applied individually to your natural eyelashes; it generally takes between 60 to 120 minutes to apply one set of iNatural Lashes. The procedure is so relaxing and comfortable that many clients fall asleep. Touch-ups can be done in as little as 30 to 60 minutes.

4.1.9 Who uses Eyelash Extensions ?

Hollywood has long since enjoyed extending their beauty with Eyelash Extensions. Models, dancers, actors, and pageant contestants have been using eyelash extensions for years. Now, you can have them too. Because they look so real, anyone could be wearing them and you would never know! Be the first in your area to wear iNatural Lash Extensions…

4.1.10 Is the product FDA approved? Is it safe ?

Currently the FDA is not regulating eyelash extensions because the eyelash extensions are applied to the natural eyelash hairs and do not touch the skin. The primary ingredient in our HP-3 glue is the same ingredient used by plastic surgeons in the U.S. for suture-less wound closure. The application process is pain-free and relaxing. In fact, many clients fall asleep during the procedure.

4.2 Microblading Eyebrow Design

4.2.1 What is Eyebrow Microblading ?

Eyebrow Microblading, also known as feather touch  is an advanced manual embroidery technique of semi permanent makeup taking the industry by storm. It is done using a very fine blade (not a machine) made up of 10-16 tiny, super fine needles, to deposit the hypo-allergenic pigments into the epidermis. Because color is implanted closer to the skin surface, the strokes appear  hair-like and natural .

Unlike the harsh brow tattooing of the past (Sharpie Look),  Microblading looks completely natural.   It mimics real brow hair and can be individually customized. Depending on your needs, brows can be subtly colored or completely remodeled as each new stroke one by one, is carefully constructed and colored by hand.

The pigments used in this method have been formulated to match your original eyebrow color, and if the eyebrows are still present, blend perfectly into the existing hairs. If no hair is present (in cases of alopecia or hair loss) completely new brows can be constructed and look real!

The results are a natural, flawless, beautifully shaped, fuller looking brows. Initially, the brows appear darker, but fade significantly over a two week period.

The results can last up to 3-5 years, depending on different factors such as client’s skin type, sun exposure, chemicals contained in creams and products applied to the skin which could fade and break down the pigment sooner etc.

4.2.2 What is the procedure like ?

Allow 2 hours for your initial treatment, which includes consultation, design, numbing  then procedure.

SHARALTON is known for his eyebrow shaping and restoration abilities and uses a unique method of face & feature measurement to determine the ideal shape and design to suit you, together with consultation to meet your needs. After full consultation, we will measure and design the new brows, allowing you to agree on the best shape & thickness to suit your face.

Anesthetic is continually applied during the procedure to keep discomfort to a minimum. Aftercare instructions are given and first touch up/perfecting appointment is scheduled (6-8 weeks from initial procedure)

There is no down time after procedure, brows will appear darker for 1-2 weeks before healing and fading to a natural color, but most people feel comfortable to return to work within the first 1-2 days. Aftercare cream will be given and must be applied 2-3 times per day for 2 weeks, whilst brows are kept clean and free of other products.

5. About Scalp

5.1 SMP Scalp Micro- Pigmentation

5.1.1 What is Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) ?

You know that confident, powerful look that says “I could have a full head of hair, but I’ve chosen to shave it down to the follicle?” That’s the SMP style. SMP itself is the generic name for the process of using tiny ink impressions placed on the scalp to create the look of a full, robust, closely cut hairline. GLI is an SMP pioneer that has developed its own proprietary SMP process performed by trained, Certified Impression Technicians™Click here to learn more about Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP).

5.1.2 Is SMP really just a tattoo ?

No. SMP is about as similar to tattooing as administering a flu shot is to performing brain surgery. SMP and tattooing both consist of making marks on the skin by ingraining an indelible pigment into the dermis. However, the SMP application process, custom pigments, mapping, client management and technician training are extremely specialized. SMP is the only process performed at GLI. That’s why we’re the SMP leader, and why our understanding of SMP’s science and artistry has produced unsurpassed results for thousands of clients who’ve inquired about micropigmentation cost.

5.1.3 How long does SMP take ?

After hair micropigmentation cost, one of the most frequently asked questions we get is about how long the procedure itself takes.  The vast majority of GLI’s clients are in and out in just one day. Depending on your surgical history, head size and current hair loss, the initial procedure usually takes just 5-8 hours. If you decide to receive a follow-up density enhancement, this process takes just 2 hours on average. Efficiency is one of GLI’s many advantages, as we’ve perfected SMP to maximum precision. Our competitors find it hard to believe, but we’ve got the satisfied clients to prove it. Especially if you’re coming to us from out of town, this saves you significant time and money on hotels and other expenses.

5.1.4 How long does SMP last ?

We know that there are many questions surrounding what scalp micropigmentation actually is.  SMP is designed to be a durable and lasting solution to hair loss—not something that requires you to return again and again for expensive maintenance. Some GLI clients have one SMP procedure, and we never see them again. Others return for occasional tweaks and touchups—which we offer for just $295 for life.

5.1.5 Who actually performs GLI’s SMP procedures ?

If you’re considering Scalp Micropigmentation or hair tattoo for your hair loss solution, this might just be the most important question to ask. With GLI, you can have the confidence that SMP procedure will be performed by a trained, Certified Impressionist—not a tattoo artist. GLI technicians have performed thousands of SMP procedures and every GLI technician completes an extensive and rigorous certification and testing process, including specialized training in appropriate hairline placement and hairline pigmentation techniques.

5.1.6 What is the scalp micropigmentation cost at GLI ?

GLI offers the most natural hair loss solution at the greatest overall value, hands down. Because we replicate each individual follicle you’ve lost (and more), pricing scales up or down based on the complexity of your customized procedure. Costs for hair micropigmentation start at just $1000 (to conceal scarring from other procedures) and increase based on complexity. We offer three families of pricing: A La Carte (you cover your own transportation, housing and meals), All-Inclusive (those costs are included in your pricing), and VIP (all-inclusive plus additional bells and whistles to achieve the most private and memorable transformational experience). Keep in mind that whichever route you choose, we offer a complimentary touch-up within the year if needed, plus additional touch-ups for life for just $295. To determine specific pricing, start by requesting a quote. If you’d like to spread payments out monthly, we also offer financing through United Medical Credit.

5.1.7 Can I see or talk to other people who’ve had SMP done at GLI ?

Absolutely. This website features a before and after gallery of real GLI clients, plus tons of user reviews from third-party sources that are not edited or filtered by us. We also offer an in-office consultation where you can see people up close who’ve had the SMP procedure, and we provide consultants who’ve experienced Scalp Micro Pigmentation for themselves. Schedule a consultation with one of our GLI consultants online, or call us today at 952-378-1778.

5.1.8 I have scars from hair transplants. Can SMP help ?

Yes. We know that every scar is unique, and we’re confident that we provide the industry’s most thorough scar camouflage protocol. In fact, about 20 percent of the SMP we perform is to correct previous procedures from other providers—much of which involves scar camouflage. Visit our gallery for examples, or visit our page dedicated specifically to scar concealment.

5.1.9 What kind of pigmentation do you use ?

As an SMP pioneer, we’ve developed a large, proprietary line of pigments to give you the widest possible breadth of choices. Rest assured, these aren’t tattoo inks. Regardless of your skin tone or desired hair color, we have a pigment and procedure composites that meet your requirements.

5.1.10 Is SMP painful ?

Having performed thousands of SMP procedures, we can confidently tell you that while SMP isn’t without discomfort, any pain involved is generally far less than most of our clients expect (in fact, we’ve had several clients feel so relaxed that they’ve fallen asleep during the procedure). Discomfort levels vary by person—and by the level of previous work they’ve received, such as transplants. But on average, our clients would rate their discomfort between 0 and 2 on a scale from 0-10.

5.1.11 Is there a recovery period with SMP, or does it look good right away ?

SMP recovery is amazingly quick, akin to LASIK eye surgery. Most clients experience some redness immediately following the procedure, which dissipates significantly or completely disappears by the very next day. Rest assured, you won’t need to wear a hat for a month after your GLI procedure. : )

5.1.12 Does insurance cover SMP ?

The cost of a hair tattoo is something many clients place first and foremost.  In most cases, insurance does not cover the scalp micropigmentation cost. But if you’ve had previous treatments from another provider (such as for burns or cuts) that were covered by insurance, consult with your insurance agent about possible coverage for hair micropigmentation cost.

5.1.13 What if I’m not approved for credit ?

No problem. We work hard to make a great new hairline accessible to everyone, so even if your application for outsourced credit to cover the micropigmentation cost isn’t approved for any reason, you can just call your Image Consultant to make guaranteed financing available.

5.1.14 What is your Refund Policy ?

All work performed by Good Look Ink Certified Technicians is backed with a lifetime guarantee.  No risk and all reward.

5.1.15 What’s the next step ?

We hope that the above questions and answers helped those asking “what is scalp micropigmentation?”.  If you are still wondering what the next step is, that’s easy. Use this site to get a free quote, or contact us today about starting your journey to restored confidence.

7.1 Ulthera

7.1.1 What is Ultherapy ?

Ultherapy is the only non-surgical, FDA-approved procedure that is clinically proven to lift, tighten, and tone skin naturally using your own collagen. The areas we treat include full face, neck, chin, eyebrow, décolletage, abdomen, and knees, all without surgery. Using focused ultrasound energy, Ultherapy tightens and lifts loose skin and stimulates the new growth of collagen in the deeper layers of the facial tissue.

7.1.2 What is the cost of Ultherapy Treatment ?

7.1.3 How is new collagen benificial to the skin ?

Our skin’s youthfulness is maintained by collagen, a natural protein that keeps the skin firm and toned. As we age, collagen strength is diminished and can no longer stand up to the effect of gravity, which pulls the skin downward. Ultherapy generates a thermal effect that strengthens the existing collagen while producing new, fresh collagen.

Ultherapy delivers sound waves deep under the skin to lift, tighten, and rejuvenate loose skin without surgery, needles, or damage to the skin.

7.1.4 Who is a good candidate for Ultherapy ?

Men and women aged thirty or older with mild or moderate skin laxity are the typical candidates for Ultherapy. However, Ultherapy can also be beneficial for individuals under thirty who would like to retain their youthful appearance, or those looking to delay the need for cosmetic surgery.

While Ultherapy is not a replacement for a surgical facelift, it is an excellent option for those looking for a non-invasive alternative with zero downtime.

7.1.5 What areas can be treated with Ultherapy ?

7.1.6 How does the Ultherapy procedure work ?

As with other ultrasound procedures, a smooth applicator placed upon your skin projects an image onto a screen that allows your practitioner to plan where the energy will be directed. This same applicator is then used to deliver low levels of focused heat to just the right depth below the skin to achieve a positive effect, all the while leaving the surface of your skin undisturbed. Your skin’s response to the energy is to stimulate the growth of new collagen. A gradual tightening and firming occurs, resulting in a natural lift of the skin over time.

7.1.7 How is this procedure different from other cosmetic procedures ?

Ultherapy is the only non-surgical skin rejuvenation procedure that uses ultrasound to see below the surface of the skin and to specifically target the deep foundational layer of tissue that doctors address in surgery. The ability to treat not just the skin but its underlying support very precisely, from the inside out, helps to ensure both safe and satisfying results, with no down time.

7.1.8 What does it feel like ?

There can be some discomfort while the energy is being delivered, but it is temporary, and a signal that the collagen-building process has been initiated. Comfort thresholds vary from patient to patient.  Patients typically leave comfortable and excited about the benefits to come.

7.1.9 What can I expect afterwards ?

You are able to return to your normal activities right away, and there are no special measures you need to take. Your skin may appear a bit flushed immediately after the treatment, but any redness should disappear within a few hours. It is not uncommon to experience slight swelling for a few days following the procedure or tingling/tenderness to the touch for a few weeks following the procedure, but these are mild and temporary in nature.

7.1.10 Is Ulthera safe ?

You are able to return to your normal activities right away, and there are no special measures you need to take. Your skin may appear a bit flushed immediately after the treatment, but any redness should disappear within a few hours. It is not uncommon to experience slight swelling for a few days following the procedure or tingling/tenderness to the touch for a few weeks following the procedure, but these are mild and temporary in nature.

7.1.11 When can patients expect to see results ?

Immediately after treatment, most patients notice a naturally lifted and toned complexion as well as a slower rate of skin aging. Since Ultherapy stimulates the production of collagen over time, optimal results are seen three to six months following the procedure. Yearly touch-up treatments can be done to maintain these results.

7.1.12 How does Ulthera compare with Thermage ?

Both Ulthera and Thermage offer proprietary nonsurgical modalities to deliver skin tightening and lifting of face and neck. Thermage uses  radiofrequency energy delivery system whereas Ulthera utilizes external ultrasound energy delivery technology to bring about retraction of deep tissues underneath the skin and stimulation of collagen offering consistent clinical results.

7.1.13 How does Ulthera compare to Lasers ?

Lasers typically address issues in the superficial layers of the skin (e.g. fine lines, wrinkles, pigment changes). Ultherapy addresses the deep skin layer to lift.
